Kenya is one of the first countries in Africa, and among only a few globally, to enact a comprehensive law and policy to guide national and subnational responses to climate change (6 May, Kenya’s Climate Change Act, 2016)

The IEWM was selected to help with this project because it has been a key player in addressing natural resource management, water and sanitation in the East African Region for the past four years, by fostering efficient and effective institutions and processes through training and capacity building, skills development, research and knowledge management.
